Amaryllis Here are some of the thoughts and comments people have taken the time to say to me over the last couple of years.  It's great getting feedback  from potential clients and fellow artists.   (Your words are like finding a robin's egg in a nest. .. a real treasure.)    Andrée
I came across your lovely site and work. I am new to Oregon and mainly a painter. I've been landscaping our garden and now am inspired to attempt a mosaic patio with my daughter, also a painter.  We don't have much money, but are searching for low cost tile pieces, remnants, mosaic tile etc... We plan to also use some small river rocks, and I got some free tiles that I think I'll break up. Any suggestions as to where to go? I'd love also to visit your studio and meet you some day!!  Yours, D.E.A., Portland, Oregon

Devil's Bell Flower

love your work and your site is magnificent!

Guess what? I saw your porch and it inspired me to mosaic mine.
I've collected a bunch of neutral color tile (free from tile store)
and have started working on it,
but I now want to add some color! I just need some GREEN! and maybe
another color or two....
Thanks so much for any suggestions, D.T.

You really inspire me!  I check your website periodically and am in awe of your creations....and now this project on the side of your house!  You go girl!

I started mosaicing about three years ago.......and it has been my therapy...my son was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma......and mosaicing has been my way of relieving stress, etc........when I feel like I'm going to pieces...I break something to pieces!   By the way..he's cancer free....and WILL REMAIN SO!!!!  Positive!

Anyway, I just saw your new project and I am so anxious to see what you do!  All of your projects are so outrageously wonderful...love your technique and your style............

CLAP CLAP CLAP...throwing roses to you!  Your creations certainly make me smile!  janet - Alaska
5/3/07 - Greetings talented one!  First of all I want to tell you how talented you are and what beautiful work you do.  I am interested in making my first bowling ball mosaic and found your name on Google.  You gave excellent instructions for making a bowling ball mosaic which will be outdoors for a few months.  (I'm from up north in the suburbs of Buffalo, NY so a warm season is only 4-5 months long. Kim
I love your work and am feeling so inspired after looking through your gallery.  Your work, even through the photos gives me a real feeling of calm. I wish you great success.

Hi,  I have been browsing your work - it is wonderful.

Presently, I am taking a class at church using a bowling ball.  Some people brought some from a previous class with shells on them but many were broken (smashed).  Is there a technique to harden them or do you just have to be careful about where you place them?  Thank you for your inspirational website.

God bless, Faye

Dear Faye:  The shells I use are a certain kind.  They're not the ones with ridges, but the ones that are very old and tumbled.  I hand pick all of them.  Does that help at all? Let me know.  Thanks for the compliment on my work.  God bless you too.  Andree.

10-18-06 - I glanced at your site briefly and was breathless. I’ll go back to it tonight at home. I really like your website. Did you design it? You’re work is so beautiful. You make me want to take up mosaic art. I wish you much success or should I say continued success. (smile)

Hope to hear back from you soon. L. B. Orlando, Florida.

6.21.06 - Hello Andree,

I am an aspiring mosaic artist myself, since taking a mosaic mirror course through our city recreation department a couple of years ago.  I started out working exclusively in stained glass, but quickly moved on to adding found objects and thrift store pottery/china finds.  For me, at least half the fun is searching for unusual items to incorporate into my designs.  I have had many serendipitous moments since I started working in mosaic - treasures just seem to be finding their way into my hands!  Have you experienced that?

I love searching out websites such as yours to see what other people are doing, and I find your work really speaks to me.  I especially admired the sidewalk project you did at your entry, as well as the wall panel entitled "brain fog".  Your flowing abstract designs and use of colour and contrasting materials are inspirational.  Thanks for posting it all for people such as myself to admire and learn from!  Jody

I am the one with the small b. A potter friend from Germany wrote to me about your web site. I was curious...and now very impressed. I am a French Canadian photographer living in Nelson, British Columbia. My work presents photographs of my international travel, specifically from Africa. I also create my own wood frames which I decorate with artifacts collected while traveling. I just wanted to say hello, it is nice to see that our name is art producing. I do not have a web site, may be a thing of a near future. I am working at writing a book presently, if and when completed, I'll send a copy.
my artist name is my middle name, AZILDA
merci pour votre attention. AAL
