3.24.08 - Drawing her arms and working
on their muscles is a critical element of my mermaid. This is
the most difficult part of this project, taking the most time and
patience. Proportion and scale had to be worked on a long
while to get just right.
6/26/08 - Arms are still in
progress. Have been working on hair.

Finally, I'm getting back
into Mirabeau. I'm creating the portal from her
underworld to our world. .....
I'm incorporating real beach glass
that I bought at a garage sale, (A whole fish bowl full of browns,
greens, and whites.) china - like plates and saucers, shells from Cape San Blas, Florida,
stained glass and vitreous tile.
My method is direct. This
piece is on hardi-board.

Here I am establishing my sides
first, because the top tile will cover the edge of the vertical tile.
I think that I'm going to create her
fins out of glass tile and create the water from stained glass.
I'm using Weldbond and thin-set.
