"Run River Run"

Page 1, 2, 3

My biggest project to date.    Dave and I are going to create an awesome piece of artwork, a  mosaic river leading up to our front entry and flowing up two columns north and south of the front door.  (Obviously, we do not belong to a Homeowner's Association!)   I really didn't want to put any more of my work (on) my home, but if you get into mosaic,  let me  tell you, it's highly likely going to happen.

Top: The  floor has been skim coated with concrete slurry for better adhesion.

The messy part; wet, muddy, but a beautiful January day here in Florida!

Our entryway is rather ordinary without architectural distinction. (I'm my harshest critic.) How could mosaic hurt?

Left - The very beginning layout.  Porcelain, slate, granite, earth toned materials will make up the main line of the river.

Left - This represents our game plan. Flowing lines, no pictures of birds or a scene.  Abstract in nature, hopefully abstract enough that it will never go out of style.
